Homemade Hello Kitty Pancakes: Maya Original Hotcake Mix

They said, "Cooking is one of the Best-est way to a man's heart"... So what I did, was I bake a self-homemade Hello Kitty Pancakes out of the famous Maya Original Hotcake Mix. Nothing really special today, I just felt like surprising Nemo.

Ingredients :
  • 1 medium sized egg
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 pack Maya Original Hotcake Mix 250 grams

Procedure :

  • Beat egg slightly in a bowl
  • Add in water, oil and hotcake mix

  • Stir just until slightly lumpy (do not overmix)

  • Pour 1/4 to 1/3 cup batter onto a pre-heated slightly greased pan or flat skillet.
  • Cook until bubbly.
  • Turn to cook the other side

  • Serve with Syrup, honey or jam

My Hello Kitty Pancake masterpiece.. with Love!

The Sizzlin' Pepper Steak

We have been at Sizzlin' Pepper Steak twice! One was at Robinsons Galleria and the other was at Resorts World Newport City. So far, Sizzlin' Pepper Steak is one of my favorite sizzling restaurants here in the Philippines.

The Sizzlin' Pepper Steak. Your Steak, your choice!

This was one of my favorite resto idea! Green means "Moo-oove" - that's for you to be able to be assisted by the waiters/waitress or to call someone to get your orders, on the other hand, Red means to "Stop" - if you're still thinking of what to order -- this will be the best command!

This is what my boyfriend, Mitch, ordered.
He had Pork Pepper Rice, Php 185.

And I ordered Oyako Pepper Rice, Php 185.

Their food and service are so amazing! I can give them 5 stars for that! Both on Galleria and Resorts World Sizzlin' Pepper Steak Staff!

The price are decent. Very affordable! Plus, their service are very fast although they're not a fast food chain per se.

I love this idea too! The unique cover on top of the sizzlin' plate.

We only spent almost Php 500 only on both sizzlin' meals! Inclusive of our drinks and the like. We enjoyed the ambiance of the place and the breeze of the sizzlin' plate!

YakiMIX. Sushi, Smokeless Grill, Restaurant. SM Mall Of Asia

Me and my boyfriend are fond of making our date an eat-all-you-can experience. We were looking for something different for our anniversary, until we found - YAKIMIX.

YakiMix is an eat-all-you-can and grill-it-yourself restaurant that offers a wide selection of asian cuisines, from Japanese, Cantonese to Korean.

The lunch buffet costs Php 499 per head on weekdays; Php 599 on weekends, which is also the same price for dinner every night of the week. A little expensive, but considering the amount of food choices you get compared with other eat-all-you-can restaurants we’ve tried so far.

For children below feet, they offer a special rate of Php 380. Their bottomless drinks cost Php 75. And in case you have leftovers (a no-no when you’re at eat-all-you-can restaurants), they charge Php 699 per head.

This was our reservation sheet, first-come-first-serve basis! AND LOOK! We're at #1!

Here's the raw food section for your Grill-It-Yourself experience right in front of your table!

For those who doesn't like the smokeless grill, don't be sad!
They also have a cooked meals section.

Sushi and Maki Section.

Sweets Section (cakes and pastries)

Salad and Ice Cream Section.

That's me enjoying the smokeless grill! Making the most of my favorites - SHRIMP!

IT IS ABSOLUTELY, WORTH IT! *pinky promise*

Tahoooooo! ♥

And just like my everyday coffee at the office -- Tahoooooo! ♥

Taho - One of the famous Philippine street food that is made of a soft gelatin-like snack made from processed soybeans topped with caramel arnibal (brown sugar and vanilla syrup) and tapioca pearls (locally called sago).

It is usually peddled by a "mangtataho". They are carrying two huge aluminum or stainless buckets (or riding a bike with the containers on the sidecar) and shouting Tahoooô! One of the buckets (the larger one) carries the tofu base; the other, smaller bucket holds the arnibal and sago "pearls"

How To Make Taho from Soybean

Materials:
3 cups mature and newly harvested soybeans
2 bars white gulaman
3 cups brown sugar
strainer (muslin or nylon cloth)

Procedure:
1. Soak soybeans overnight in water 3 times its volume.
2. Remove outer covering, grind; add water little by little (at least 6 cups) while grinding.
3. Dissolve 2 bars gulaman in boiling water (7 cups).
4. Pour the ground soybean in boiling gulaman for 7 minutes or until the odor of grains is removed.
5. Set aside until it coagulates.
6. Serve with syrup.

Taho Syrup is prepared as follows:
- 3 cups sugar is dissolved in 3 cups water. The sugar may be caramelized to improve color and flavor.

Taho are very affordable. This small cup (photo above) cost only 5.00 Philippine Peso. Mangtataho usually sells in the morning, a comfort food for breakfast!
